Welcome To The Social Work Collective Academy™
About The Academy
The Social Work Collective Academy brings together training, consultancy, and resources to help social workers and safeguarding professionals build confident, competent, and calm practice.

Founded by Vicki Shevlin, social worker and trainer, The Academy was created to bridge the gap between professional theory and the realities of frontline practice. Every session, course, and resource is grounded in experience — designed to help professionals make clear, confident decisions and feel calm in complex situations.

We work with individuals, teams, and organisations across the UK — from newly qualified social workers to safeguarding leads, schools, local authorities, charities, and private sector providers. Wherever there’s a duty of care, we help build the skills and reflection that keep people safe.

THE COLLECTIVE FRAMEWORK

At the heart of everything we do are three guiding principles:
Confidence
Supporting professionals to trust their knowledge, judgment, and voice.
Competence
Building practical skills, clear understanding, and professional excellence.
Calm
Creating space for reflection, regulation, and balanced decision-making.

Our training and consultancy are designed to be engaging, reflective, and rooted in real-world social work and safeguarding experience. The result is professional learning that feels human, not corporate.
